Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the premier airline in the Philippines, has launched new domestic and international flight routes from Davao, enhancing the connectivity of Mindanao's economic and cultural hub with the Philippines and global destinations.
Commencing on October 27, 2024, Cebu Pacific will provide daily flights linking Davao with Caticlan and Puerto Princesa, along with four weekly flights to Hong Kong. Additionally, three weekly services to Bangkok-Don Mueang will begin on October 28, followed by three weekly flights to Tacloban starting October 29.
"We are excited to broaden our network to and from Davao, which strengthens the city's connectivity on both local and international fronts. The introduction of these new flights underscores Cebu Pacific's dedication to fostering Davao's emergence as a vital economic center. These routes will enhance convenience for travelers and create fresh opportunities for tourism, business, and cultural exchange, all while promoting inclusive regional growth," stated Candice Iyog, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at Cebu Pacific.
Previously, Davao travelers were required to book connecting flights through Manila, resulting in travel times of up to eight hours to reach Hong Kong and Bangkok, including layovers. With the introduction of direct international flights from Davao, passengers can now avoid additional stops and lengthy waits at other airports.
Travelers can now reach Hong Kong and Bangkok in just 3.5 hours, saving up to five hours of travel time. Furthermore, Davao passengers can benefit from a reduction of up to 35% on one-way fares to Hong Kong and nearly 99% on one-way fares to Bangkok with Cebu Pacific’s direct services.
The new direct flights to Caticlan, Puerto Princesa, and Tacloban will provide travelers with opportunities to discover the unique attractions, culinary delights, and vibrant culture of each destination. Cebu Pacific currently operates direct flights from Davao to other destinations, including Manila, Cebu, Clark, Bacolod, Cagayan De Oro, Iloilo, Siargao, Tagbilaran, and Zamboanga.
“With the addition of these flights, passengers from Davao can enjoy same-day return travel. For instance, one can fly to Manila, Cebu, or Iloilo in the morning, attend meetings, and return to Davao in time for dinner. Cebu Pacific remains committed to offering flexible flight schedules, allowing our passengers to maximize their day,” Iyog added.
Cebu Pacific operates flights to 35 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
