Pam For The Glam

Hi, beautiful! As promised, I am posting about my evil queen makeup transformation. I will try my best to explain how I achieved this look for the Fairest Night of All DBS Christmas Party. The entire look took me more than 2 hours to complete so I hope I am able to remember all the steps as well as clearly share how I came up with this totally wicked MOTD.

I prepped my skin with my preferred toner then primed my skin using Nivea Post Shave Balm.
For the makeup application, the steps below created the look I was going for.

Step 1: Hide the brows
I used an Elmer's Glue tube to flatten and smooth down brow hairs on to my skin. I then waited until it dried to add some settting powder. I repeated this process about three times until the brow strands no longer stood out and I finally had a smooth working surface. I used my Naturactor Coverface  to completely hide the brows.

Step 2: Brow Up
I drew on on thin, symmetrical, and arched brows using Etude House Drawing Brow for outlining my brows then filled them in with the darkest shade in my morphe brow 8 palette. I also added some black eyeshadow to fill in my brows.

Step 3: Get artsy with your lids
I did a cut crease using the Nyx gel eyeliner in brown to trace a false outline on each of my lid fold. I drew above my actual crease and carefully blended it using a crease brush. I used my Naturactor Coverface concealer on my lid to bring out the colors of the eyeshadows. I then used a medium purple shadow to cover the lids, topped the middle with a similar color with some subtle shimmer. I then added black shadow at the outer corners, carefully blending the color into my cut crease. Using the Maybelline gel liner in black, I drew on exaggerated wings to line my eyes and then drew extra flicks of lashes to create the illusion of ultra lush lashes.

Step 4: Face work
After putting on my lightest shade of full coverage foundation (Milani conceal Perfect in Vanilla), I used the LA Girl Pro Conceal in Red, Green, and Yellow to correct imperfections and skin discolorations and then used the Pro Conceal in Toast to contour. I used Maybelline Age Rewind Neutralizer to brighten the area under my eyes. Doing this will immediately make the eyes stand out and compliment the contour work. I baked my t-zone and jawline for 15 minutes using the RCMA translucent powder. After brushing off all the excess powder, I used the Kat Von D Shade and Light powder to further emphasize my contour then used Colourpop in Clutch for my blush. I highlighted the highest point of my cheeks, inner corner of my eyes, tip of my nose, and the top of my cupid's bow with Anastasia Beverly Hills Glowkit Sweets in Sassy Grape. I finished the look with a swipe of Estee Lauder's Sumptious Lash Mascara and the most dramatic lashes I could find. After a few spritz of Loreal Infallible Makeup Extending Spray, I was finally ready.

My daughter and I dressed up as the Evil Queen and Snow White

I still can't believe that I got voted as Best Dressed by my DBS Fam

DIY projects for my costume include the crown, hood, brooch, cape, and belt. I had my dress custom made from my favorite dress shop. The guy who did the actual sewing was so excited for me because it was his first time to make this kind of dress.

I had so much fun creating this look and the experience was so wonderful and surreal. Again, I would like to thank everybody who voted for me and to acknowledge the efforts of the other members who really went all out for their costumes. Thank you to the officers and the rest of my DBS Fam. You guys gave me a night to cherish forever.

Thanks, everybody! May the Glam be with all of us always! :)

 * Special thanks to Ms. Jowe Posadas, Jim Carlo, and Hubby for my pictures above

My family and I attended our first ever DBS Christmas Party, aptly named The Fairest Night of All for this year's Disney theme.

I eventually decided to go as the Evil Queen from the animated movie Snow White and dressed my little one up as Snow White while my husband went as Darth Vader.

We've never had the pleasure of going to a themed soiree in full costume before so this was a very exciting night for us.

The moment I found out about the theme, I started preparing all our costumes and studied what I could to achieve the positively wicked look I had in mind. I scoured tutorials for Evil Queen inspired looks and finally decided to incorporate many of the elements I liked in one.

My makeup transformation started at three pm which went on until 5 pm. I was excited about exploring this kind of makeup artistry and I jumped at the chance to try it for an event that called for something totally different from my usual motd styles.

I will be writing about this makeup transformation in detail for my next blog post. If you're interested to know how I achieved this look and the specific items I used, keep your eyes peeled for my Evil Queen transformation.

Being a new member, I did not expect to win anything but I am definitely overjoyed that I got nominated and won this Favorite Beauty Blog Award. As a beauty enthusiast, I can't say thank you enough to the people who contributed to my dream of being a better beauty blogger and becoming a legit makeup artist. This is more than a token... It's an affirmation of what I love doing. Thank you so much, DBS. I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am to be part of this family.

I am simply over the moon to have been voted best dressed by my DBS family. I was having a lot of fun and this Christmas party really gave me a chance to explore a more challenging style of makeup artistry. My three hour makeup transformation along with my month long costume research and preparation feel so worth it as friends from our blogging community gave me this honor. Thanks, everybody!

This night was full of surprises and while we expected it to be fun, we never expected it to rock our world. Everybody present clearly wanted to be there and the officers really did a great job with the production. The delicious treats, the loot bags, and prizes from our sponsors were all delightful. I believe I just had one of the most spectacular nights of my life. It was indeed the fairest night of all. Thanks, Davao Bloggers Society for welcoming my family into your community. Special thanks to the officers, mentors, and volunteers. DBS, would not be the nurturing environment it is now without your tireless efforts.

Thank you for giving my family an amazing night to remember! May the glam be with you always! :)

Hello, beautiful! I'm back with a mini review for my new additions to my ever growing Colourpop Lipsticks! This time, I decided to go for totally out there colors that may need a pinch more bravery to pull off. If you've been following me on Instagram @pam_for_the_glam you will immediately notice that I try to change up my look constantly and these new lippies definitely take each daring motd to another level.

First up, we have Dr. M, which is a dark green lipstick. If you can shed some of your inhibitions about lip colors and makeup, you should give this a try. My husband doesn't get it but I totally do. It's edgy and new. Something that will look great for night outs and even costume parties. If you can be brave about wearing it during the day, go right ahead. The formula is the same as the typcal colourpop--- swipe on enough to get the opacity you need but don't over apply because it will look patchy and feel chalky if you do. Tip: Use a brown lip liner to trace your lips before applying to eliminate the guesswork for applying this lippy. It's green and it's not very forgiving of mistakes you might make filling in your lips.

Next, we have Lychee--- a lovely magenta. It is the most tame color of the four in this review but I find that a lot of women still avoid purple toned lipsticks even magentas. This actually reminds me of Flat Out Fabulous from Mac, the first purple lippy I got. You want to explore lipstick colors beyond reds, pinks, and nudes? Take your baby steps with this color. You don't know what you're missing. The formula is consistent with Colourpop's ultramattes drying, needs primer, and requires a light hand in application.

Ouiji, is a bright coral that photographs almost, but not quite, neon. It's not the typical muted orange lippy. This lippy works well with autumn colors and it's bright hue gives a plump look to the lips. This formula has a tendency to be patchy and feels more drying than the other three lippies in the review.

The last lippy is Be-dazzled. It is a straight up violet that goes from a dark aubergine to an almost black purple, depending on how much you put on. I personally find it beautiful but some may find it too much. Next to Ouiji, this is the most drying, so make sure to prime your lips before putting this on. I would also recommend lining your lips beforehand as a guide.

These colors demand confidence so make sure you have enough to pull them off. I believe when you feel good about yourself while using makeup products, it just gives you an extra oomph that can't be beat.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and I hope you found this mini review helpful! May the glam always be with you! :)

Fly Ace Corporation gave us goodies to try out in the kitchen and to my surprise, most of the products were already stuff we've been using! The Good Life Bread Crumbs, Sesame Oil, the Dona Elena Olive Oil, Diced Tomatoes, and Olives are all cupboard regulars we prefer over other brands.

So let me share with you my recent kitchen creations.

We just had a potluck with the Davao Bloggers Society and the dish I chose to whip up was Penne ala Puttanesca. I used the Dona Elena Olive Oil, Black Olives, Penne pasta from the Fly Ace goodie bag and also bought some capers and anchovies also from Dona Elena. This dish is my go to light pasta dish because it is so easy to make and is always a crowd pleaser. Even my certified carnivore of a husband enjoyed it.

A good friend of mine taught me this recipe and we've been cooking it for gatherings since I learned how to prepare it. I would recommend this dish for those who prefer cutting back on pork or beef, or for those that would like to have a lighter type of pasta dish.

Since the only thing left in the goodie bag was the Good Life Pancit Canton, I decided to make something for my husband and my father-in-law. I made some Sesame Beef Broccoli Noodle Stirfry. I just marinated some beef strips in soy sauce, sesame oil, and oyster sauce. I cooked it with some broccoli and added some half-cooked pancit canton for some saucy noodle action. Guess what? They enjoyed the dish so much that there weren't any leftovers to keep.

Any cook will tell tell you that the best compliment you can give someone who made an effort to prepare a meal is a clean plate--- every morsel eaten with gusto. My hubby and his dad told me they loved the dish and went in for seconds... and thirds... and fourths... Until the platter was empty!

This was my first time to cook this dish and I am happy that my family enjoyed it. I always feel a little anxious when I'm trying out something new in the kitchen.

Thanks, Fly Ace, Dona Elena, and Good Life for the goodies. We really enjoyed the experience :) Now we can add another dish to our house menu faves!

Hello, gorgeous! I've been hearing wonderful things about the Laneige BB Cushion and I just had to try it for myself. I've tried BB creams but have never given cushions a whirl. I spent so many hours looking at reviews and Laneige always came out on top.

The seller I got it from describes it as a premier cushion that is long lasting and has oil control properties. It also has spf 50 which is ideal for protection against sun damage. The foundations I own, except for the bb creams, do not have sunscreen. I was looking for something that could be used for outdoor excursions.

Unboxing the Laneige BB Cushion

No primer, no setting powder, and no setting spray

With primer, setting powder, and setting spray

I've been using this cushion for my natural and light MOTDs and it took some time to adjust to the coverage beacuse I'm used to full coverage. This dilemma is easily remedied by using a little concealer after applying the product.

  Pros:
1. Feels lightweight on the skin
2. Works well with cheek tints
3. It includes a free BB Cushion refill
4. The packaging is beautiful and compact
5. It has SPF 50
6. Longwearing--- lasts you the entire day without having to reapply
7. Luminous skin effect

  Cons:
1. Pricey
2. Hard to find
3. Has gray cast
4. Light to medium coverage only
5. Limited shades--- the darkest shade is still a little light on my NC40 skin

All in all I believe that it is a great purchase for those looking for a lighter base for their motds. I personally use it when I don't want to put on a full face. I find the fact that it has a free refill to be a big plus because even if it is more expensive than other cushions out there, you already have a backup waiting for you when you run out.

I would not recommend it for those looking for matte and full coverage. I would also refrain from using flash photography with this product. For those with darker skin tones, I think you would have to do your research if you can work with their shades because it comes off pretty light.

I hope you found this review helpful. Thanks for visiting and may the glam be with you! :)

Hubby and I love watching tv shows so much and iflix is the perfect app for our movie/tv date nights--- especially because it's always raining so we often have to stay home instead of going out.

One of the first flicks we re-watched was Kill Bill. We enjoyed the experience so much that we decided to try out some of the tv shows they have. We are currently hooked on Mr. Robot so we're probably going to stock up on some snacks and we're expecting to lose a lot of sleep binge watching while snuggling.

There's even something for my little girl. She'll get a turn once we finish our current obsession but for now, Mr. Robot needs our full attention, haha! :)

If you're a PLDT subscriber, ask about iflix. You won't regret it! It's fast, legal, and super convenient. There's just so many movies and tv shows waiting for you to rewatch or discover. Frustration-free access to movies and tv shows that's super affordable for any couch potato. :)

Download the app now and break out the popcorn. Time for some serious movie marathon fun! May the glam be with you!  :)

Hi, Gorgeous! I purchased the Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft -Matte Hydrating foundation and I tested it out for this review. I've been using it to give you a fair review about the product. I hope you find this mini review helpful. I have combination skin in the shade NC40 for referrence. I picked this foundation out simply because I need a foundation for days when my skin is dry because most of the products I own control sebum and dry out my skin even more. I need something that looks matte but will not cake like the usual matte base I use on days when my skin is feeling parched. I got it in shade #60 or sandy beige.

The Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation comes in a sleek tube that is handy for travel or for storage in our modestly sized makeup kit. It has a thick consistency, unlike the runny or thinner ones I am used to. Go easy on squeezing out the product because a little goes a long way. It has medium but buildable coverage and has a beautiful matte finish. It does feel less drying than my other matte foundations. It feels moisturizing on my skin, glides smoothly and settles into a velvety soft look.

It goes on light but oxidizes into a darker shade, much like what I've observed with BB creams. It does have a gray cast in flash photography and tends to look ashy, especially without blush or bronzer so you might want to keep that in mind when you decide to use it. Oil control isn't the best but blotting areas that become shiny restores the velvety appearance.

Staying power is good especially on days when my skin feels dry. It blends well but DOES look way lighter on the face than as depicted on the tube or when placed unblended on skin. It does darken a little after a while but I would suggest getting a shade darker next time.

As mentioned before, it does have gray cast on flash photography so you might want to use something else when you know you're going to be taking pictures. In person, it looks great but it just has that white unnatural film on photos. I would also recommend sculpting/bronzing and some blush to correct the ashy appearance.

I personally like it for outdoor excursions because of its packaging and the lightweight feel on my skin. I prefer it over my bb creams because the coverage is so much better. Just remember to blot and you'll be fine throughout the day.

I actually kinda like it when it melts into the skin a little bit and it renders a more natural and slightly dewy finish.

So here are pics of me wearing it for my motd...

So that's my take on the Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation. I hope you found this review helpful. Thanks for dropping by and may the glam be with you! :)

We always try to have at least one meal together as a family because we feel that it is our time to connect with each other. It's tradition. My Lola and Mom always cooked great meals and we often continued to linger at the dining table long after everybody has "inhaled" every morsel of goodness. Most of our family gatherings demand good food and good company. We savor each bite, we savor each moment.

Nowadays, it's Nana (she's been with us for 25 years-- more or less, I'm not sure anymore, haha) who cooks most of our meals, because lola is no longer with us and my mom is now in the States. There have been a lot of variations, kitchen experiments, but the tradition is the same--- you sit and eat with the people you love. You could be eating in a resto and still be upholding the tradtion of togetherness.

You could be eating the saltiest, burnt, and almost inedible dish but you'd still enjoy yourself because the moment you spent with those closest to your heart sets it apart from any other meal without the connection. I'm quite thankful that Nana is a great cook and we get to be together while having good food--- that to me is a pretty good life.

Tonight, this was our simple dinner. Nana made some chicken sotanghon soup and used the Good Life Vermicelli and she used the Good Life Breadcrumbs for the chicken breasts. I also made a simple Asian Salad with Sesame Vinaigrette using the Good Life Sesame Oil. We just realized that we've been using these products even before we got the goodies. Nana was relieved to be using stuff she usually had in her pantry.

My daughter devoured two servings of the soup and even requested a few more slurps of the hearty broth. She polished off her bowl with gusto. My husband had to be convinced.

Hubby is simply not fond of noodles. He does not like sotanghon soup nor chicken breasts. He also does not like veggies. He may be the pickiest eater in our little family. Tonight, I urged him to give the dishes a chance because 1. It was raining and 2. I just didn't want to prepare anything else---except the salad.

The meal was certainly prepared with love and my husband even watched as I put together the salad and made his favorite dressing.

Guess what? We finished everything! The food was delicious but the loving looks at each other and our baby as well as the trivial but enjoyable conversation we had made the experience even better.

As we got ready for movie night, I looked at the empty plates and bowls--proof of good food, and our family's huddled position at the dining table--- proof of good company, I thought to myself... This is in fact, a pretty good life... May you have moments like this yourself... wherever you may be.

 Thanks for visiting! :)

The Christmas season is coming and I can't wait to do some serious shopping. Apart from buying the traditional Noche Buena grocery items, getting gifts for our loved ones would probably be one of the most exciting activities.

I attended Lazada's Roadshow and I'm excited to tell you about the Lazada Online Revolution that starts tomorrow, 11-11 or November 11 until 12-12 or December 12. We are so excited for the huge discounts and great deals on everybody's favorite brands. The deals cover product categories namely Fashion, Health & Beauty, Home & Living, and Electronics. There's something for everyone. I just found out they even carry grocery items and some of our preferred brands. My husband recently got a VR Shinecon Virtual Reality Glasses from Lazada and he loved the experience. The entire process was hassle-free and easy to do. He was consistently updated with the status of his order and got the item in 4 days.  They offer cash on delivery, free delivery, and requires no sign ups to purchase. We're both excited to do some holiday shopping online.

We're expecting a lot of discounts and we've started browsing for stuff we fancy just in case any of them are offered at huge discounted prices.

So here's my Christmas Wishlist:

1. Canon 760D- I need a camera for my beauty vlogs that not only renders accurate/true makeup colors but one that has a flip viewfinder. I think it will make vlogging so much easier if I don't have to guess if I'm in the shot. I film alone, so you can just imagine how hard it would be for me to determine how my setup looks on our current Nikon D90.

2. Photo Studio Kit Set Backdrop Stand with Storage Bag Black White Nonwoven Backdrops and Mini Clips. I'd love to start practicing photoshoots with my daughter and my blogger friends. We wouldn't have to worry about our background if we had something like this handy.

For beauty items and makeup, I'd like the following:

1. Sleek Highlighting Palette in Solstice- I've always wanted to get my hands on this palette because it is one of Jaclyn Hill's faves! it is currently on sale for only 399. A huge price cut from 875 pesos. You get 54% savings.

2. Jo.In Cosmetic Round Makeup Toothbrush Brush Type 10 pcs. Display Holder- I have 2 sets of 10 and 1 set of six of the paddle brushes. I would love to have this on my vanity table.

3. Suesh Mobile Makeup Station with Detachable Stand- I dream of becoming a makeup artist one day and this would definitely be one of the things I need/want once I get enough experience.

So those are the things I've been looking at in Lazada. I don't know if I'll get any of them, but it couldn't hurt to wish for fabulous gifts on Christmas, right? So what's on your wishlist? start browsing now http://ho.lazada.com.ph/SHJQvc

I'm planning to keep browsing on the site for great deals and gifts and I'll keep you posted so you don't miss 'em.

Thanks for visiting my blog and may the glam be with you! :)

We recently went to Malagos Garden Resort for some much needed R&R. One of the things that Glamazons are concerned about when semi-roughing it, is packing for the motd. Truth be told, you can opt to bring just a lip and cheek tint, a bottle of sunblock and a tube of bb cream. I wanted to see if I could come up with an motd with less than what I normally use at home but more than what I would use for my no makeup look. I wanted this particular excursion to have some semblance of glam and not the usual minimal makeup (if any at all) I often go for on outdoorsy trips. I've tried the usual makeup route for overnight stays but I've never quite tried glamping or trying to be fashionable while on a trip. I usually don't care too much about motds when I'm on vacay, so I decided to try it on our Malagos Garden Resort stay.

  So what did I pack?

1. Nivea Post Shave Balm- I repacked it in a smaller and much lighter container---a soft squeeze bottle to be precise. I want my makeup to glide smoothly and stay on all day. if I don't use a primer, my skin, sweat, and oil will eat up all the products in a just a few hours.

2. Etude Brow Pencil (#2 Brown) and M.A.C Browset (Girlboy)- I use the pencil to shape the brows and the browset or the browcara to match my brows to my hair. No glam look is complete without fantastic brows.

3. M.A.C. Individual Eyeshadows in Brule and Espresso- If you can only bring a few items, a good cream base is a must and a brown shadow will give your eyelook some dimension or even a smokey effect that is 100% fabulous.

4. Maybelline Hypersharp Eyeliner and Etude House Play 101 Pencil (#49)- If you want a softer look, use just the Etude House Pencil. I wanted drama, and Maybelline Hypersharp delivers drama.

5. Clinique High Impact Mascara- You want to frame those peepers with lush lashes and I have the sampler size from a set that is essential for this glamping excursion.

6. L'Oreal Infallible Pro- Matte (Golden Beige)- You need the ultimate face base that will keep the oil at bay and stay on all daw. Maybelline Matte and Poreless is also a good choice but glamping would dictate that the lighter and sleeker packaging is the better choice.

7. BYS Contour and Highlighting Sticks- these are cream sticks that glide on smoothly on the skin and do not budge once set.

8. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer- I used this to make my brows sharper and to hide the dark circles under my eyes.

9. Maybelline White Stay Fresh 2-way Powder (Sand beige)-  My usual setting/finishing powders were too bulky to bring and I can imagine too messy to attmpt. I decided to pat this on my face to set my makeup.

10. M.A.C. Sculpt and Shape Compact- I set my contour and highlight with this instead of my fave Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette. Smaller but also effective.

11. Colourpop Supershock Cheek Blush in Clutch- This small and compact blush packs is highly pigmented and requires a light touch to give you a sweet and natural blush. I chose this because it seemed the least fragile of my blush collection.

12. Colourpop Supershock Highlighter in Lunch Money- This cream highlighter glides on smoothly on the skin and gives that controlled dewy illusion that balances the full makeup look. It is essential if you want a full face but don't want a matte and cakey look. I chose this amongst my highlighter collection because the last time I packed my Becca Champagne Pop, it shattered during travel.

13. Colourpop in Clueless- This innocent but playful matte pink gives you a lip color you don't have to retouch as much (if at all) and gives you a soft but finished look.

14. L'Oreal Infallible Makeup Extending Setting Spray- this seals the makeup and lets it set as it dries. I repacked it in a smaller atomizer for the glamping trip.

I managed to fit all of these and some extras I wound up not using in a medium-sized cosmetic bag. Full glam looks often require a cosmetic case but I managed to minimize the products enough to fit into my handbag.

Here is my glamping motd topped with a wide brimmed hat for effect and sun protection. :)

I had so much fun putting together this motd. I hope you also had fun reading about my glamping experience and hopefully you try it out for yourself too. I've always gone the sans or minimal makeup look and I just wanted to try something new. This was another thing I simply had to say yes to in my journey of self-love, self-acceptance, and discovery.

So what are you waiting for? Say yes to something new today... :) . May the Glam be with you! :)

There's something special about hair... Our relationship with it is so complex that it often reflects much of how we feel or what situation we find ourselves in. Happy or sad... Heartbroken or in love. Some may wear it a certain way according to profession or convenience while some use it for self-expression. For me, going red was simply a chance to say yes to a different me.

Some members of the Davao Bloggers Society volunteered as models for Hairs and Nails' collection for the MBEX. I was one of the participants and was assigned to Ms. Gheena Tolentino. Initially, I wanted to have the usual style with subtle changes to color but halfway through, I just thought to myself that this is a chance to say yes to something new and, in a way, celebrate joining DBS. Last year, I decided to reinvent myself by coloring my hair for the first time, now, I just want to have fun.

I was hesitant but Ms. Gheena was very forthcoming and nice about the experience. She would tell us about what she had in mind but would not be forceful about things we were not open to. She wanted to do a full fringe in red for me. No, not the usual auburn shade--- vibrant red. I still can't believe I agreed, but I'm glad I did.

No turning back--- Ms. Gheena worked her red magic into my hair and left it on for 35 minutes. as soon as I saw the crimson emulsion, I knew this was going to be a totally new look from the usual ones I went for.

Excited, but a little anxious about the result of  our color choice...

Different was what I wanted and different was what I got. In pictures, my hair looks like a solid burgundy but in person, you can see the vibrant red coursing as highlights through my wine colored mane. Up close, they look red hot and unique. My daughter is totally crazy about my new look. She even asked if she could have the same hairdo as her mommy.

We modeled our new looks at Abreeza's atrium. It was my first time to ever be part of a big production like MBEX. I never thought I'd ever be involved in this fabulous event and now that I've been given the chance to join, I realized that the glitz and glam we see, as mere spectators, involves a lot of hard work from so many people. Logistics, artists, stylists, organizers, and yes, even the models all contribute to the success of these events.

Above is a close up of my motd and Ms. Gheena's fringed and vibrant red creation. We modeled our new look as Ms. Gheena talked about the collection. Later with Sir Buddy, they explained why Olaplex is such a godsend to stylists as it protects the client's hair from damage. Using Olaplex enables them to push the hair further to better engage the stylist's creativity as well as deliver great results to the client.

Our goodies from Ms. Gheena at the event's conclusion included Elgon's Primaria Haircare Bath of Life, Nourishing Silk Mask, and the Remineralizing Water. This was such a sweet surprise!

We all had fun and learned a lot from the event and our stylists. It gave us a chance to step out of our comfort zones and embrace change.

Thank you, DBS, Hairs and Nails, Sir Buddy Congson, Ms. Gheena, and Kuya Belnor for the beautiful experience. Here's to new hair, new life! Thank you, Elgon Philippines, Beauty Lane Philippines, Olaplex Philippines, and Hairs and Nails!

Thanks for visiting my blog and may the glam be with us always! :)

Hi, guys! Sorry it took so long to put out another Colourpop Lippie review, I was waiting for more lippies to add to my ultrametallics from mommyfindsdavao's owned by Ms. Crystal Fernandez. I got four Colourpop Ultrametallics and One Ultramatte from her shop at Abreeza. The shades are Lights Out, Pyt, J.I.C., and Flitter for the metallics and Bad Habit for the matte. I also got a Colourpop Ultramatte  lippie in the shade Drive-In from all_about_authentic on IG.

I've used the Ultramattes for my motds but just had test swatches for the metallics. I just haven't had enough time to figure out an motd with them and when I do, I always seem to forget to use them. I'm just used to mattes, I suppose.

Colourpop Ultramatte in Bad Habit and Drive-in

Colourpop Ultrametallic in Lights Out, Pyt, J.I.C., and Flitter

For the Ultramattes, Bad Habit is a wine colored lippie very similar to more better but lighter. The formula is not as drying as the typical ultramatte and glides on beautifully without a hitch. Drive-in, also a matte is a deep magenta that's similar to LASplash Smitten Mousse in the shade bewitched. It has that typical Ultramatte texture that is drying and has a velvet matte appearance once dry. It also photographs beautifully. I think it's a very wearable violet shade.

Now for the Ultrametallics, they look similar but have slight differences in tone and texture. They also seem more lightweight on the lips, less opaque, and do not have the same strong acrylic scent of Zebra and Maneater. Lights Out is a bronze-gold mix that glides on well, not drying but may require two coats to get its true color. PYT is a more brass with very slight green undertone that has the best texture and opacity of the four. It also does not emphasize the lines of the lips like the other three. J.I.C. is a pale pink metallic that just looks a bit like a frosted pink gloss than a lipstick. It reminds me of Estee Lauder's Pink Parfait lippie that has very sheer coverage. It would certainly look great on top of a pink or purple lippie. Flitter is a pretty metallic peach or a very faint copper shade. It stands out because of its peachy color but has a tendency to be streaky on the lips. You will need about 2-3 coats to achieve the same effect as the swatch above. The wand I got for my tube of flitter might be a factor since it doesn't seem to be taking as much product as the other metallics.

All in all, these are great additions to my growing Colourpop collection. If you ever feel like getting them, I usually get my colourpop fix from mommyfindsdavao or all_about_authentic on IG. I hope you found this post helpful. May the glam be with you! :)

Hey, Beautiful! I have five new Colourpop Lippie Products for this post. I also have more makeup product reviews coming up and I hope you tune in for the other September additions I've added to my stash.

I've been waiting for these shades for so long and Ms. Crystal Fernandez was kind enough to accommodate my requests. Her shop, mommyfindsdavao, is a personal fave of mine and I have been getting most of my hauls from her physical shop in Abreeza Cube, Davao. They ship goodies outside of Davao too, in case you want to place an order for your next haul.

So here's what I have for you today :)

The four new shades I got were More Better, Highball, Instigator, and Succulent. I also got the Lippie Primer, which I admit to being initially skeptical of. I thought it was just another lip balm but after using it, I found that it actually improved the lipstick application and helped keep the colors more vibrant than the ordinary lip balms I used.

More Better is a sexy, deep wine colored red. It goes on beautifully and of all the Ultramattes I own, this was the easiest one to put on. It's a matte but doesn't feel as drying as the others I've tried. Highball is a bright and fun magenta that pretty much falls under the typical Colourpop consistency. It glides on with relative ease, dries quickly and the finish is a true matte. Succulent is a striking red lippy that has coral undertones. It is the first lippie I've tried from Colourpop that was a bit difficult to work with. The shade is beautiful but the formula was so dry, patchy, and streaky on my lips. It took me five tries to get it right. It frustrated me a little but I just had to try it out for this post. However, that being said, I am still going to try and make it work for future motds. Even if it means mixing it with other shades to make it more wearable. Instigator is a lovely matte peach that's charming and neutral. The soft shade gives off a romantic and sweet vibe that is subtle and flattering for most skin tones.

One thing to remember when purchasing Ultramattes is that you may not always get the same experience with each lippie so don't lose your head thinking you got duped into buying fake product. Formulas for batches and shades vary and change, and some even react differently to a person's body chemistry.  At least that's what I've read about it so far. If you browse about it online, a lot of users have reported inconsistencies in the formula for certain shades. I've personally had similar experience even with premium brands so I don't really think of this as a deal breaker. I've been trying to get MAC's Candy Yum Yum to work for me but I've only been able to wear it when I mix it with other lippies. It looks streaky on me despite it's beautiful color. It looks great on my cousin, though. For me, these little bumps are just part of the makeup experience and with Colourpop's affordable price, it's not going to stop me from collecting the brand's many interesting shades.

I'm going to keep this review short and sweet. I hope you found this post helpful for your next Colourpop purchase. Please remember that this post is based on my personal experience with these shades and that I believe it is entirely possible for you to have a different experience from what I've posted. That's totally cool and wonderful. Keep on being the fabulous diva that you are and may the glam always be with you! :)

Hello, Beautiful! I just want to share my BeautyMNL experience with you. I was handpicked to give the site a test run and I jumped at the chance to score some brand new beauty items while learning how transactions with the site worked. I've heard about Beauty MNL before but haven't availed of their services mainly because I was used to buying from IG sellers and physical stores, not shop sites. I initially thought it would be tricky, but it's actually more straightforward than I thought.

After accessing BeautyMNL, I immediately noticed how organized they've put together their site. If you have a particular brand or product in mind, they actually make it easy for you to locate the item. I love the fact that they have product reviews from buyers because I can find out about the product right there and then without having to go through so many outside the site. I personally like reading reviews because they are personal experiences with the product and not promotional descriptions that often just give you its pros and often just gloss over the cons.

Having just received a big makeup haul from my parents, I decided to order beauty tools for this site's haul. Being a fan of Morphe Brushes, I browsed the shop for a blending brush and found the  Morphe M519 . They sell other Morphe brushes on the site too which, quite frankly, has guaranteed a future visit from me for their Morphe M438 once they've restocked it. My next item was the Swan Egg Blender. I'm looking for a generic dupe for the egg sponge I use for my concealer so I really hope it works out. The last item I ordered was the Biore Cleansing Oil Cotton Sheets which you can get here: Biore Cleansing Oil Sheets. I've always been curious about this product but never really got the chance to buy them until I came across the product on Beauty MNL. I really love Biore's Micellar Water, so I have a feeling that I'm going to enjoy these sheets as well. I can't wait to try them on my eyeshadow and mascara laden MOTDs.

Payment and checkout was a breeze as it was easy to understand and the site showed you the breakdown of your order. Another thing I liked? Their wide selection of beauty products as well as the discounts and fabulous deals on selected items. They also indicate product availability so it eliminates having to bother anybody to ask if they have stuff on stock.

My Order was shipped on September 9 and it arrived today, which is the 12th. This is often the case for provincial deliveries and I often get my packages from Manila-based sellers in 3-5 days.

I just love the packaging. Its resealable bag looks neat and keeps the products safely inside. It also contains the delivery receipt that shows you what you ordered. I appreciate this extra step because you actually have your purchases on paper and you don't have to pop open your email to check your invoice in case you've forgotten about the products you're supposed to get. The fact that they've chosen to use packaging with the site's name makes it seem all the more professional. Often, I just get my products bundled in generic cellophane and bubble wrap.

These are my much-awaited ordered products and I just can't wait to try them out on my next MOTD. Inside the resealable bag, they came protected in bubble wrap and I got them in pristine condition. Can I just say that the blending brush feels so soft? I've been brushing it acros my wrist since I got it. I'm just so happy that I finally have a site to get my Morphe brushes from.

I also got the TRESemme shampoo and conditioner samples and the St. Ives Apricot Scrub for free and for me, gifts like these are ALWAYS a plus. I wish more companies did this. It gives you a chance to try new products and really just makes you more inclined to continue ordering from these sellers.

My overall BeautyMNL experience was great and I can't wait for my next beauty haul from their site. I'm already waiting for an update for the Morphe M438 and will definitely try out more products from their site. I definitely recommend this shop for those looking for fabulous beauty finds.

But wait, my pretties! There's more! BeautyMNL wants to let you in on all the glam fun. For those who love taking selfies, you can join the site's #selfieMNL contest and get a chance to win a Printster polaroid of your gorgeous face and a PHP200 BeautyMNL GC. Simply click here for details of the contest.

Thanks for taking the time to drop by my blog. May the glam be with you!  :)

Hello, gorgeous people! I waited until I got seven new shades to blog about my current favorite lippy brand so that I have enough swatches and to try them out before I gave you a mini review. If you're thinking of buying any of these shades, I hope this post will help you. For the Colourpop Ultramatte, the newest additions to my growing collection are Creeper, Rooch, Chi, Clueless, and Cheap Thrills and for the Ultrametallics are Zebra and Man Eater.

Creeper is a true red that gives you that classic red lip look that goes well with perfectly lined but minimally done eyes. This is a wonderful red matte to use in the famous Parisian look that suits just about everybody. Rooch and Chi are actually part of Kae Pop Karreuche x Colourpop Collection, a collaboration with Karreuche Tran that reflects her everyday glam style. The three lippies in this line are namely Kae (which I've featured on my last Colourpop blog), Rooch, and Chi. They are all matte and are on the brown/ warm side. Rooch is the darkest of the bunch. An almost brown with a hint of red lipstick. It is definitely a bold color and may seem too unnerving to wear for those who prefer safe colors but I personally think it's a beautiful color. For those going for a strong, or even goth look, this is a wonderful dark red. Tip: When you feel intimidated by a lip color, wear it around the house until you get used to it. I find that a big part of how the product looks on you is how confident you feel about wearing it. Play around with it. It's makeup. Have fun! Challenge yourself every now and then to move out of your comfort zone. Rooch is a vampy red that may look too dark to pull off but once you figure out  how to wear these bold lips, it's a game changer. I like softly smoking my eyes and contouring with this lippy. Chi is currently my favorite nude. It looks lovely when used with a dramatic cut crease or earthy smokey eyes. Clueless is a soft innocent pink and will work well with both light and dramatic eye makeup. This is a great everyday pink. It's a versatile nude pink that you can wear with any look. Cheap Thrills reminds me of Colourpop Stingraye and Lumiere 2. It's the tiniest bit more purple than both colors. It works best with plum or pink themed makeup and is subtle enough to be used during the day. But hey, if you love lippies as much as I do, there are no day or night lippies. There are only lippies you choose to rock for that very moment.

In general, Ultramattes can be very drying. You will definitely need to prep your lips before using them and moisturize  after. I just love the sexy true matte effect these lippies give and the fact that they are practically unscented is a plus. They last through the day and are budge proof except when you've eaten something greasy.  :)

The Ultramettalics are such great additions to the Colourpop family. I own other brands that are metallics but these lippies are SERIOUSLY metallic and opaque. Zebra is a darker brown and bronze than Man Eater which is more peach and gold. They are easy to apply and look gorgeous with either the matte or the dewy highlighted look. The one thing I don't like about these metallics is the scent and taste. I find that even with different brands, it usually has that faint chemical smell similar to lacquer and ever so slightly bitter. I also have this experience with LaSplash in Ghoulish. It basically smells like paint. I get this even with my Estee Lauder Tiger Eye, even with the added fragrance. It's not a deal breaker. If you want opaque metallic lips these are nice. You should probably hold off on the kisses, though, when you 're wearing them. They aren't as budge proof, but they are also not as drying as the Ultramatte line.

One improvement that could be made with these lippies is to keep the Colourpop labels from fading. I'm currently using only mattes and metallics so it's fairly easy to tell them apart. I imagine it would be a bit harder when you add satins in the mix. You would need to look at the bottom sticker to be able to tell. Hopefully they're still there. I'd advise you to reinforce the sticker with tape once they start to peel off. Again, not a deal breaker but rather, a pet peeve for OC me. I love labels and I like being to tell apart products from each other. Hopefully, they do manage to take care of this disappearing label problem in the future.

So there you have it, my Colourpop lippy additions. If you're looking for these shades and planning a purchase, I hope this post was helpful. Thank you for taking the time to visit my page and I hope you have a nice day! May the glam be with you! :)
