Pam For The Glam

Hi, glamazons! I ordered some products from Ellana Mineral Cosmetics a few months ago and I've been using them as often as I can since I got them. It's been a while and I can't wait to tell you about my Ellana experience.

I actually decided to buy from Ellana when I was getting ready to give birth. I needed makeup that was hypoallergenic, long-wearing, and easy to apply because I know I'd be too frazzled from taking care of my baby for beauty touch ups.

Below are products I got from Ellana Mineral Cosmetics. I was so impressed by the items I got that I even placed a second order soon after testing them out. This is not a sponsored post and I'm sharing my thoughts simply because I love most of the products I got.

Pressed Mineral Foundation in Caramel, Pressed Multipurpose Mineral Powders in Butter Rum, Flirtation, Fulfillment, and Light Roast,
and their Gaia Magnetic Makeup Palette

foundie kit with 1 mini loose foundation in French Vanilla, 1 loose foundation in Hazelnut, 1 loose concealer & foundation in Radiant, and 1 mini stay fresh setting spray

Lip in Luxe Lipstick in Love is Amazing, Stay Gorgeous Dual Head Retractable Powder Brush, Loose Multipurpose Pigments in
Ethereal, and the Blur Primer with free Airless Pump Bottle

These are the second batch of items I ordered  from Ellana:The Lip and Cheek Gel in Amethyst, Lip in Luxe In the shade Love is True, Loose concealer and foundation in Smile, Mirror jar, and Flower Power Setting Spray

My top five favorites from Ellana Mineral Cosmetics include:1. Loose Concealer and Foundation in Smile and Radiant, 2. Lip in Luxe in Love is Amazing and Love is True,3. Blur Primer, 4. Flower Power Setting Spray, and 5. Pressed Mineral Foundation in Caramel.

Their Loose Concealer and Foundation as well as their pressed Mineral foundation give you medium to full coverage. Good enough to hide most of the blemishes from my pregnancy acne and eliminates the need for liquid or cream concealers. They work so well with the blur primer and when misted over with the Flower Power Setting Spray, gives you a fresh natural glow with great coverage that lasts all day. When used correctly, I find that the products are budge-proof and sweat-proof also somewhat waterproof because it doesn't move even when it gets wet unless you deliberately rub it off with cleansing products.

Their Lip in Luxe lippies remind me of Colourpop (my personal fave) and they stay on the lips all day. I can even get a few meals in without needing to reapply. I love the matte, budge-proof experience I get from them although some may find the formula too drying on their lips. I personally prefer this formula and I don't mind the extra step of exfoliating and moisturizing my lips when they're dry.

The Blur Primer feels amazing on the skin and lets the mineral powder glide smoothly upon application making the task of blending a breeze on your skin. It blurs out your pores and helps you get that flawless base you need for your motd.

The Flower Power Setting Spray is amazing because it not only serves as a setting spray but you can also use it as a primer. It also keeps the powder foundation from looking cakey. It gives you a nice glow and smells wonderful.

Their accessories like the airless pump, magnetic compact, mirror jar, and the dual end brush were also quite impressive. I love the fact that they sell refills and encourage reuse of their containers. That to me says that this is a company that not only churns out beauty products but it's a company that consciously tries to be kind to nature.

The loose pigment I got in Ethereal was also nice and I like using it to smoke or line my eyes. The pressed multipurpose pigments were also nice but they don't really show up on my morena skin as much as I'd like when I'm using the mineral foundations I got from Ellana. I do manage to make them work when I use a lighter liquid or cream base, like a cushion, and bronze up to correct the tone.

The only item that didn't work for me was the Lip and Cheek Gel in Amethyst. I find it a little hard to blend as it sets before I can distribute it on my cheeks evenly. I just can't seem to get the right amount on my cheeks without looking like I'd been slapped silly. This is not to say that it isn't a good product, though. Maybe it's just me. Tints in general aren't my thing and I usually have a hard time applying them. If you love this product then that's great. I'd love to hear from you and learn how to apply it properly to get the best results using this product.

All in all, Ellana Mineral Cosmetics is an impressive brand that I would recommend to friends and readers. I love how I am still able to do motds without worrying so much that my makeup will irritate my current sensitive postpartum skin as well as my baby's delicate one. The best part? No touch ups! If anything, motds look even better after hours on the skin. That is not something I can say about a lot of makeup products out there.

When I gave birth to my first baby, I was bare faced all the time so I just had to go for a made up face after I gave birth to my second baby. Ellana really helped give my self esteem a boost after 13 hours of labor and feeling so much like a potato.

Finally, I leave you with my motd pic after giving birth. Try Ellana Mineral Cosmetics for beauty that truly does more. Thank you for visiting and may the glam be with you!

Hi, Glamazons! I just did a mini unboxing of the EB Advance Glow Out Highlighters. I've attached the video below for you to see how it looks swatched on my arm and on my face.

The EB Glow Out Highlighter comes in 2 shades-- Candelight and Strobe. I got them both specifically for this review and for research on affordable highlighters. Most quality highlighters are just too expensive and I want to be able to recommend budget-friendly alternatives to my readers and friends. So let's get on to the review.

Packaging
Both highlighters come in clear and white compacts. They let you see the products even without actually opening them which is convenient but the overall make also seems a little flimsy and might break easily. It doesn't come with a mirror but that's not really a dealbreaker for me. I just wish the containers were made with sturdier material but at 199 Pesos, I think that's an understandable compromise. I would rather sacrifice the packaging over the quality of the product.

On the Pan
Right off the bat, they both look great on the pan. Candelight reminds me of Butterscotch from Anastasia Beverly Hills Sweets Glow Kit while Strobe reminds me of Becca Champagne Pop and Essence Pure Nude.

Texture
I have to admit that when I swatched them, they felt a little grainy and powdery on my finger. I was getting ready to get chalky streaks and chunky glitter on my arm and face but I was pleasantly surprised to see that once you apply them on your skin, they actually blend well. Make sure to tap off the excess from your brush before brushing them on because you will experience kick up and fall out with them.

Glow
When you've gotten over the powdery feel and actually get around to applying them on your skin, they sort of blend out into a beautiful glow that's blinding when you pack it on but can look natural with a light hand. They don't emphasize lines or pores and make the skin look healthy and supple. Of the two, Strobe is the more subtle shade. It has a light cream-colored sheen that's reflective and makes your skin look moisturized. Candelight, on the other hand, is yellow-gold with flecks of glitter that may seem intimidating on the pan but actually blends well onto the skin. If you want the bronze goddess look, and aren't afraid of straight up gold highlighter this is the highlighter for you. Both give a "wet" or dewy appearance that looks reflective but not at all oily.

All in all, these Glow Out Highlighters are amazing additions to your makeup collection. They are the most afforfable quality highlighters you can buy for under 200 pesos. I highly recommend them to glamazons obessed with getting just the right glow at just the right price. You can buy them at any Ever Bilena kiosk at department stores in malls and at Watsons. Get glowing with these heavenly highlighters!

Thanks for dropping by and may the glam be with you always! :)

Hi, Glamazons! My Skin Origins just launched their newest skincare additions on October 20, 2018. I'm so happy to be one of the first to them and to be present during their product launch.

They released four new products and repackaged our favorite Brightening Pore Minimizer Toner for a fresh new look in a beautiful see-through bottle.

Hydrate, Breathe, Stay, and Preserve are totally new products while the Brightening Pore Minimizer Toner got a new look.

I got mine a few days before the official launch and after a week of using them, I can already see a beautiful difference.

During and after giving birth, my chloasma/melasma was so bad that I stopped taking pictures and being active on social media. I wasn't really feeling up to doing motdd  and beauty posts because I had to ride out most of my skin issues during pregnancy and I felt that there was so much work to be done with my skin after delivery. My neck, underarms  and face were having hyperpigmentation and acne scar issues that weighed heavily on my self-esteem. There were days when I even avoided looking at the mirror because there were so much of the marks and darkened areas I had to contend with. After I got the go signal for starting my skincare regimen, I went for the products that would speed up skin renewal and lighten my problem areas.  After 2 weeks, the Ultra White Set together with the Power Whitening Bar and Pore No More really improved my skin's appearance. Weeks later, the new products were launched and they were supposed to target my specific skin problems. They are indeed so much different than the products I've been using and I really love the packaging they come in.

How do I use these products? First, I use the Brightening Pore Minimizer to prep my skin after cleansing with Pore No More. Then I gently tap Stay (the serum) onto my face and neck until it's absorbed. At night, I use Preserve as my night cream and it dries into a demi matte finish and I set everything with Hydrate. I always wake up with smooth and supple skin when I use them at night. During the day, I use the Pore Brightening Minimizer and Stay just like my nightly routine but switch out Preserve with Breathe. Breathe is lightweight tinted sunscreen/skincare product that has color adapt technology.  I like using this as my primer for my motds. It doesn't have the usual gray cast you might expect from a product with spf. After Breathe has set on my face, I either use Hydrate to set it for makeup free days or put on some makeup then set with Hydrate.

A week after following this routine, my acne scars on the cheeks are barely noticeable now and the dark spots on my face and neck have lightened significantly. I plan to stick with this new skincare routine indefinitely because it helps me achieve the canvas I want for my motds.

Check these products out for yourself at any My Skin Origins Branch here in Davao City. They have one in Jacinto and one in Matina. You may also order their products at the My Skin Origins online store.

Thanks for dropping by and may the glam be with you always! :)

Hi, Glamazons! Here's an everyday motd I've been using since I gave birth. It's quick, easy, and more or less hypoallergenic. Except for the brow products and eyeliner, I'm currently favoring makeup from Clinique and Ellana Mineral Cosmetics. I've attached the video so you can watch how I do my MOTD. As a sweet bonus, the video features the hilarious voice-over by Jexx Hinggo and Gem Tadefa of The Bro Show.

Watch the video below to see how I created this look and to hear Jexx and Gem's funny commentary!

I hope you enjoy this Pam for the Glam and The Bro Show collaboration because we had so much fun making this video. Thanks for visiting and may the glam be with you! :)

Hi, Glamazons! I've been taking it easy with beauty blogging these past few months because I got pregnant and my hormones are all over the place. Motds are such a challenge with my skin breakouts and there are certain products I can't really use. I'm now 7 months pregnant and the one constant thing I've used before and after my pregnancy is My Skin Origins Shea Body Butter with Arbutin.

I started using My Skin's Body Butter last year because I had stretchmarks on my arms and legs. My ever fluctuating weight just wreaked havoc on my skin's elasticity and I had ugly marks on my arms since 2016-2017. I tried expensive creams and scar removers but the marks didn't show any signs of fading until I started using My Skin's Body Butter.

I noticed that the red marks gradually went from angry red, to dark brown, then to an almost invisible white on my arms and legs. Stretchmarks aren't fun. I had to cover up my arms for most of 2016 because I kept getting asked if they hurt or how I got them. In less than 2 months, my marks started fading when I used this body butter and I am currently using it on my huge baby bump to manage the marks showing up with each trimester.

Apart from the fact that it helped me diminish the appearance of my stretchmarks, I really love how moisturized my skin feels after application. Dry areas like the elbows, knees and heels really benefit from just a small amount of this body butter without it feeling to greasy or sticky like most body butters.

Right now, it is the number one beauty and skincare product in my arsenal because it helps me maintain my skin's moisture and helps me manage my stretchmarks. You just need to be consistent and use it after every bath.

My empty tubs :) Consistency is key!

This retails for about P380.00 at any My Skin Origins Skincare and Facial Center and you can actually start buying it online at the My Skin Origins Online Store.

Thanks for taking the time to read my review. I hope you try it for yourself and see what My Skin Origins Shea Cocoa with Arbutin Body Butter can do for you. May the glam be with you always! :)

Hi, Glamazons! I got my first Flossy footwear after our DBS Christmas Ball and was drawn to the Jorge design in Khaki. I chose it mainly because I love the grayish taupe color and I wanted something simple but different from the popular models.

I'll admit that I never thought of buying one til I actually tried one for myself.  Flossy's just one of those shoes that strike me as trendy and youthful and while I like having my motds up to date, my overall sense of fashion is unremarkable and simple. I just don't like to overthink anything that doesn't involve makeup.

Flossy is a game changer in the sense that even basic gals such as myself can appreciate its beauty given the right style. I like no frills, clean lines, and basically colors and designs that go well with my black or gray bags. I want to be comfortable but put together without taking the focus off my motds.

I put on my first pair and I just love it. It gives me a more relaxed look with my dresses, instead of the more formal look I'm used to. I feel younger and laid back but I don't feel like I'm trying too hard or look underdressed for as long as I have my makeup on fleek. The fact that I'm preggy and looking for comfy shoes only endears my new kicks to me even more.

I've been using it for weeks and it is hands down one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever used. It has that sweet strawberry bubblegum scent I like, and is just so light. When the shoes I wear aren't doing it for me, I usually have calluses by the end of the week. I either have to get a foot spa or use my good sandals to get my heels soft again but so far I haven't had that problem with the flossy footwear I got.

It looks absolutely cute with almost every dress I have. You look so fresh and beach vacation ready when you use it with bright colors or anything with floral or tropical print. I'm no fashion blogger, but I like how it just blends seamlessly into my existing style.

It is currently my fave shoes to wear right now. I was skeptical about these shoes before but now I'm a believer.

I'm glad I finally tried a pair and now, I simply can't wait to add more Flossy footwear to my collection of shoes.

If you're in Davao and want to get your fresh Flossy kicks, visit Res Toe Run at SM City Davao or any Flossy shop to get yourself a pair. if you want an easy, fresh summer style without changing your entire wardrobe, find a pair of Flossy to change things up a little. You'd be surprised how a simple pair of footwear can make a difference.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you find the Flossy that's suits your lifestyle. May the glam be with you always!

Hi, Glamazons! I've been using detanglers ever since I started bleaching and coloring my hair. Detangling gently is important so as to avoid hair breakage and split ends. I actually used to have one from a popular brush company and I haven't had to change it for two years until Hairfood let me try their Cacai Brush. Just when I thought detanglers couldn't get any better, this product proved me wrong.

So let me tell you exactly what I love about the Cacai Brush.

Let's start with the colors, you can get the Cacai brush in 2 colors-- Metallic Magenta and black, and Dainty Blue and Pink. Both colors are gorgeous. I have one in blue to take with me when I go out and one in magenta for home.

  It has a handle.

A curved one that fits into your hand perfectly and lets you have more control as you brush out the tangles. The one I own doesn't have a handle and I never realized that something as simple as a handle makes a big difference. My old detangler has fallen off my hand while brushing so many times, which is why I really like having something solid to hang on to.

   It's lighter.

I actually prefer the Cacai brush over my more expensive detangler now because even with the handle, it weighs practically the same, if not lighter, than my other detanglers. The sleek and beautiful design lets you brush in style without the added weight.

  It's affordable.

Compared to other detangler brands, the Cacai brush retails for only 549 pesos while other brands go for 700 pesos or more.

It lets me brush my hair even when my hair is wet. The usual brushes out there will not only snag on your knots but cause breakage. For bleached and processed hair like mine, it is especially important to be able to comb through the tangles without damaging my tresses. My hair simply needs extra care. I start at the bottom half of my hair to get rid of the knots then gently work my way up. Combing my hair this way really just prevents breakage for me and once I've managed to untangle all the knots, the Cacai brush glides through my mane smoothly without any unpleasant hiccups.

This is a great item to give and receive especially if you or the person you're planning to get it for has processed hair. Since I started using this type of brush I've never had to deal with split ends and impossible knots!

So go get yourself a Cacai Freedom Brush and see how something as simple as a detangler can give you happy hair days.

Thanks for dropping by and may the glam be with you always! :)
