Pam For The Glam

Hello, Glamazons! I've had the pleasure of trying out the Browhaus Bi-liners and I am thrilled to finally share my mini review about these exciting new eyeliners! Miss Monique Jamlang of Browhaus, Abreeza gave us 5 bi-liners to try along with our brow shaping and Lash in Bloom treat. I've been enjoying these gel liners since I started incorporating them in my motds.

Top to bottom: Midnight Blue, Blush, Burgundy, Noir Shimmer, and Amber

Each Brrowhaus Bi-liner comes with a dual has a retractable
gel pencil tip on one end,and a smudger on the other protected
by caps of different sizes. There is also a sharpener if you detach
the smudger from the pencil's body.

We each got a box of 5 of these dual-function eyeliners that come in 5 metallic shades:
1.Blush, a baby pink chrome
2. Burgundy- a wine brown shade that has the most subdued hint of metallic finish
3. Amber- a creamy bronze
4. Noir Shimmer- a silver black-gray finish
5. Midnight Blue- a royal blue with subtle shimmer

Each bi-liner has a retractable gel liner tip and a rubber smudger at its the opposite end. They are pretty pigmented, long wearing, and set quickly after application. They are also touted to be waterproof and suitable for oily skin. They also double up as eyeshadows if you smudge after application.

Browhaus Bi-liners Swatches from top to bottom:
Blush, Burgundy, Amber, Noir Shimmer, Midnight Blue

I have oily skin/lids and I'm really particular about the eyeliners I use because if they can't deliver, I end up with smudged up racoon eyes or nasty imprints on my crease. Gel liners are tricky because they go on creamy and rarely stay put after application. I was initially apprehensive about adding these liners to my motds until I finally gave them a whirl.

I find that these are indeed long wearing eyeliners that are perfect for creating soft smokey, or relaxed daily looks. They glide on in a soft line that is just gorgeous to  look at and the bright metallic sheen instantly brightens and opens up your eyes. They will last you the whole day and, although they are waterproof, they come off easily with any makeup remover. I also tried them when we went swimming and they didn't melt into an ugly mess as most of my eyeliners do. They stay put for as long as you don't touch them or rub your peepers.

The only trouble I've had with them is blending them once they've set. You have to work quickly because if you try to move the product around once it's settled on the skin, you'll end up with clumps or a patchy line. That said, they are pretty great once you get the hang of applying them. Each swipe is pretty pigmented so you only need about 2 coats of them and you're done. If you decide to go for a soft line/smudged smokey look, it will make you're eyes look bigger and this will give you a pretty sexy look.

If you're unnerved by the fact that they are metallic, don't be. Burgundy in particular sets into a soft, matte brown and the other metallics are subtle enough to be wearable everyday.

Below are some of the looks I've created using the Browhaus Bi-liners.

These liners work well with minimal makeup.
They define your eyes without looking overdone

Here I used Noir Shimmer on my lids and amber on my waterline

My favorite bi-liner is burgundy because it gives me this
soft and subtle smokey look that's great for everyday glam

I also like using them with my favorite liquid eyeliners. I use the sharp lines on my lids
and then use them on my waterline and just below the lashline. I find that this gives
me my favorite winged look and makes my eyes look bigger.

The Browhaus bi-liners are impressive additions to any girl's makeup collection and I would definitely recommend them to people looking for quality eyeliners in general. They are must haves for travel bugs that want a eyeliners that can also be used as eyeshadows. I would also recommend them to friends who prefer softer, and more forgiving eyeliners that are great and easy to apply on a regular basis, especially when you're in a rush or only have time for simple motds. If you're looking for creamy and pigmented eyeliners, these babies might just be what you need.

I hope you found this review helpful. Thanks for visiting, and may the glam be with you! :)

Hi, Glamazons! I just had my first Browhaus experience and I'm so excited to share my first time to try their eyelash extensions. Ms. Monique invited us to try their painless brow threading as well as their lash services. We just had to decide which look suited us best. The selections were the Lash Curl Up, which curls your lashes, the Lash in Bloom (LIB), and the Express Lash in Bloom (XLIB). The most natural looking lash service is the Lash in Bloom which painstakingly adds one lash at a time to achieve a believably real lush set of lashes while the Express Lash in Bloom adds 3 strands at a time,  also known as cluster extensions, which creates a dramatic look. The XLIB, was offered to us in two styles, one was the doll style and cat eye. The first one makes you look like a doll as it opens up your eye area with a row of long clusters that are ever so slightly longer at the middle while the cat eye is basically thick but shorter from the inner corner of the lash line and fans out into longer clusters at the outer corners, giving an almost false winged eyeliner look.

I liked their brow threading service a lot. My brows are often shaped and groomed by yours truly and the few times I've tried threading from other establishments were often quite painful. In Browhaus, they use a different kind of thread and the staff are trained quite well and I find that their technique is relatively painless compared to the services I've tried before. I don't really mind the pulling or even the somewhat stinging sensation but what I do mind when too much brow hairs are taken out. What I like most about the experience is how they left my lashes thick and just took out the small stray hairs without going all crazy with the threading.

Getting Eyelash extensions is a new thing for me. I've always been curious about it but never really worked up the nerve to try it. I love putting on a full face and I certainly love using false eyelashes and I always wondered how extensions would look on me. I really wanted to try something that fit my makeup style so I chose the XLIB specifically to give my glam motds that extra oomph falsies give. I wanted them as thick as I could possibly get them. I chose the cat eye style because I like the sleepy/sultry look it gives as well as the fact that they look sexy and i was told that losing a few clusters wouldn't be as obvious with the other style. I felt that the XLIB suited my personality best and reflected my love for all things glam. It was also serendipitous to have the opportunity to try the XLIB for a shoot we were having the next day for our hair goals project.

This is how the XLIB by Browhaus looked on me on the first day. I didn't have any makeup on. You can really see the big diffrence the eyelash extension procedure makes.

On the day of our shoot, I didn't have to put on too much makeup and I didn't need to put on falsies anymore. The XLIB really adds an extra pizzazz to your look. It kicks it up a notch without going overboard. I love how it made me look glamorous but not overdone.

On regular days, I've had to tone down my usual motd. I would usually just slap on some bb cream and lipstick and I looked totally made up. Sometimes, I would even just dust on some powder and swipe on some lip tint and it would be enough. You get a glam "woke up like this" look even without any makeup on. The lashes do most of the work for you. It's like you have so many coats of your favorite mascara without the clumps.

I personally enjoyed my first ever eyelash extension from Browhaus. It lasted almost two weeks on me but I've been told it varies for each person. The double cleansing I do before I go to sleep probably disturbed the glue attaching the strands. Given the fact that I love putting on a full face, it would be next to impossible to discontinue my usual skincare at the end of the day because this is how I prevent breakouts. I enjoy glam motds with tons of products and I've had to cut down on using makeup because one, you absolutely didn't need much to look amazing with these lashes, and two, more products mean more cleansing.

The Browhaus XLIB, would be a terrific choice for girls who wear minimal makeup and for girls on the go. It's also great for travelling and for when you don't want to bring too many products with you on a trip. That being said, these extensions need extra care when you bathe and cleanse. You will have to avoid letting the water hit your face/lashes directly as you shower, oil based makeup removers, and touching your lash/ eye area. You also need to carefully brush the lashes with a clean spooley to remove dirt and to unclump/untangle them. I used a wet microfiber cloth to remove my eye makeup and I had to skip my mascara for the whole time I had them. You are not allowed to rub your eyes. Once they start falling out, you can have touch ups or if you want to have them taken out, Browhaus can remove them for you painlessly without plucking out your real lashes.

To summarize, you basically don't need to put on as much product but you need to exert extra effort to maintain the lashes themselves. You can cut down on the time you spend putting together your motd but you will need to take care of the lashes to get the most out of them.

I really enjoyed my Browhaus XLIB experience and I hope this post helped you make up your mind about getting them. Personally, I liked them, but I also missed putting on the whole shebang for my motds--- namely my mascara and falsies. The fabulous treat really made me understand why a lot of my friends love it.

Try it for yourself at any Browhaus branch near you. I got mine from their Abreeza branch in Davao. Thank you so much to Ms. Monique Jamlang and the Browhaus staff for letting us try their wonderful services.

Thank you so much for visiting and may the glam be with you always! :)

Hi, Glamazons! I just want to share how much I love the Pino Tropika soap from My Skin Origins. I got a sample of it during the Davao Bloggers Society Christmas party so I decided to give the Pino Tropika soap a try. I've tried some of their products before so I was pretty excited to try this new beauty bar.

I opted to use it as my body soap because I prefer to use My Skin Origins Pore No more for my face. I've always had large pores and the Pore No More came highly recommended by the other bloggers I've spoken to about skin care. I will be writing a separate review for this beauty bar so we can focus on Pino Tropika for now.

The first thing you'll notice when you open a pack of this soap is its crisp pineapple scent. I love how fruity it smells and how it works up a nice lather as it cleanses your skin. I really like the squeaky-clean feeling it gives you after every shower without the dryness. Personally, I don't like soaps that leave a slimy or sticky film but I also don't like having the feeling of parched skin.

There will be some micropeeling after a few uses and after some time, you will notice that the soap has gradually evened out the color of your exposed skin to that of your inner arm. I've been using it for 5 months and the line distinguishing the darker area of my arm from the lighter has faded and one of my friends even complimented me on how even and bright (but not white) my skin tone has become. I've also started noticing a natural glow in my skin. I never realized how dull it looked before I started seeing the difference. A close friend was so impressed at how Pino Tropika improved my complexion that he was so excited to try it out himself.

Another thing I love about Pino Tropika is the fact that it doesn't cause any photo sensitivity or cause any untoward reactions to sun exposure. I've tried a product before that was initially good but caused awful discoloration whenever I had to be out in the sun. This caused me to distrust beauty bars because of my negative past experience. It thinned out my skin and caused it to dry out to the point where I just couldn't survive the day without lotion. I will never forget the dark purple discoloration I got whenever I was exposed to the sun. I went back to using the commercial, antibacterial soaps because I just couldn't take the chance of damaging my skin again. The soaps were undoubtedly harsh and drying but it got me feeling clean so I stuck with them for so long.

I like how it has evened out my skin tone without making it patchy or whiter. My skin just looks and feels healthy with a noticeable glow. The scent is so lovely and refreshing that it actually makes me look forward to every shower session. It has a fruity but not overpowering scent that even my husband and daughter love to get a whiff of it whenever I use it.

I'm happy to have tried this product and even happier to know that it is locally made. When I started blogging, I have always had the desire to promote stuff produced by our own entrepreneurs. For as long as it's a good product and it gives consistent results, I believe we should support it and help that business grow.

Pino Tropika is now available at NCCC Supermarket and all Gaisano Grand malls. You can also buy it from the My Skin Origins Skincare and Facial Center in Jacinto. If you ever decide to drop by their clinic, you will also be able to buy some of their premium products exclusively distributed there. You may also visit their Facebook page My Skin Origins for inquiries.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about Pino Tropika by My Skin Origins. I hope you start your own My Skin journey soon. May the glam be with you! :)

Hello, Glamazons! Sorry, it took so long for me to post about these beauties. I've been so busy with my mommy duties as well as some urgent matters that needed my attention. I'm so excited to share my mini review about these beautiful lippies because I've been testing them out for you for quite some time now.

(L-R: Colourpop Ultramatte lippies in Knotty, Beeper, Tulle, and Avenue)

I got Knotty as a Christmas present from my aunt and have been using it alot since December. It is a pale, and nude lippy with a faint apricot undertone. In the bunch, it has the driest formula and can be a little tricky to apply. It has the tendency to make medium toned girls appear "lipless" because it looks pale on dark skin, dark on light skin but blends with skin tones in between. This is easily solved by lining your lips with an apricot or brown lipliner to emphasize your lip shape. It also looks lovely and fresh when topped with peach or clear gloss. Make sure to prep your lips with some lip balm or primer because it is the most drying of the 4. It can also look a little streaky when not evenly applied.

I purchased Beeper, Tulle, and Avenue during the recent fair in Davao Convention Center because I got them at such good prices from the beautiful Arianne Buenviaje of Picked, and from Make-up Bar PH.

Beeper is a Glam Squad fave for us. Almost all of us with varying skin tones love it. It is an amazingly flattering shade that isn't too drying and looks great for any motd, be it casual or glam. I would recommend this shade to anyone interested in trying out Colourpop. It's a mauvy brown that does not need any liner and looks wonderful on anybody. It has the typical ultramatte formula that is drying but is easy to apply, goes on smooth and even without any hitch.

Tulle, is a nude lippy with a rust-red undertone. It may look a bit like beeper but that hint or orangey-red sets it apart from the other lippies. It looks great for casual looks and has the same drying ultramate formula as Beeper. It would be a great choice for people who like their brown nude lippy to have this particular undertone. In the future, I will try using it in motds with stronger eye looks and even more defined contouring.

Now, Tulle didn't wow me the way Beeper did and If I had to choose between the two, it would be Beeper because of how beautiful it looks on any skin tone. While I may not subscribe to the idea that skin tone dictates what color you should wear, I find Beeper to be universally flattering. It's a lovely shade of taupe that just goes with any look. If you can get both, get them both. I'm just saying if I had to choose only one, you know which one I like better.

The last shade is Avenue, and it is a vampy dark red that reminds me of Mac Diva. This is a strong and sexy shade that demands careful application and can look streaky and uneven if you're not careful. I really recommend using a similarly colored lip liner for this as a guide for your lip shape because reds like this need precise application. It's not as drying as the other three lippies but it can get clumpy if you're not careful. Try to apply only 2 coats maximum.

Below is how the swatches appear on my arm, followed by my motd pics using the lippies.

As with any Colourpop Ultramatte lippy, I really want to emphasize how important it is to prepare your lips before application. Regular lip scrubs and using primers before putting on any lipstick will make each swipe glide on more smoothly and flawlessly. When I want to remove the lippies, I personally like using makeup remover wipes or even just a wet microfiber cloth to get the product off my lips and follow up with some Lucas Papaw to moisturize.

I like Ultramattes because I rarely need to reapply them. I just put on my full face in the morning and I don't need to do much else for the rest of the day. The only time I ever need to reapply lipstick is when I've eaten something oily. That being said, ultramattes will emphasize cracks and bits of dry skin on you lips so make sure to take care of those puckers to get the best experience from these liquid lippies.

I hope you found this mini review helpful. Thanks for visiting and may the glam be with you!

Hello, glamazons! I've embarked on a journey of self-discovery where I aim to push myself further and to say yes to things outside my comfort zone. so far, so good. If you saw my old pictures, you would definitely notice the difference. For me, that is growth... I've finally learned to embrace change in my life and to love different versions of myself.

I joined the MBEX last year and said yes to fire engine red hair (New Hair, New Life post). It was bold, fun, and unique. I said yes to everything-- even full bangs! I enjoyed the experience so much that I just had to do it again.

This time, I wanted a totally different look and Buddy Congson of Hairs and Nails Salon is definitely one of the country's best, so I signed up for a makeover!

Initially, I just wanted a blonde, Beyonce-inspired look but then just decided to let Buddy have his way with my hair and I'm definitely glad I did.

(photos by Buddy Congson right after makeover session)

With artificial lighting

Normal lighting

This is the lightest I've ever gone with my hair and I'm so inlove with it. It's a silver and gold balayage with babylights that's a mixture of gray, dark blonde, and ash blonde. Buddy used Olaplex to protect my hair while bleaching and used two ash shades of toner to get the look. I never thought I could go this light and this is my favorite hair color so far. I've always wanted gray hair and for it to show up during processing is really just fabulous.

I really love Buddy's work and this is actually my first time to experience his famous Balayage technique and I love how the transition of colors makes it less hard to maintain because the roots are darker and the change of color is not as abrupt as just using one color--which is often what I go for. He also explained why it is essential to use Olaplex during the process to avoid damaging the hair.  He even showed me how my hair retained it's elasticity while bleaching. Below are behind the balayage scenes. This look was completed in 6 hours total so for those looking to have a similar hairstyle done, it would be prudent to arrange an appointment first.

Surprisingly, my tresses remained smooth and soft. That's Olaplex for you... or maybe it's Buddy.. No---it's Balayage by Buddy with Olaplex!

I'm so happy I got a totally different look and I love how it brings light to my face. I don't look quite as brooding as I did before. I feel more open and revitalized. It's weird how adding gray in my mane actually served to make me look younger than my previous hair color. I expected my hair to break or to have some shedding but I'm surprised that after that punishing transformation, my hair actually feels stronger and smoother. When I use my hair brush, I don't get the same amount of hairfall as I did before after using my box colors at home.

Buddy also taught me how to care for my hair and to use Olaplex 3 to strengthen and repair the bleached strands. I've also been instructed to use only sulfide free shampoo or purple shampoo to prevent brassy tones.

All in all, I'm so happy about my hair transformation. I can't thank Buddy, Princess, and Tita Evelyn enough for this fabulous new look! If you're interested in getting a similar look or just want something new, look up Buddy Congson on FB or follow him on IG @buddycongson. You may also visit Hairs and Nails Salon in Davao and Tagum City to get the look you want.

Thanks for your time and may be the glam be with you! :)
